Here are a few sample images from four days in outback Queensland shooting for Australian Geographic (June 30-July 3). This was one of the shorter assignments I have been given but I still took over 1000 images. Hiring a 4WD direct from Mt Isa airport I sped off early one morning along the Barkly Highway towards the Riversleigh fossil site, some 360 km away (see earlier blogs). The mesmerizing early morning cloud formations lit from a rising sun provided the first shots. After a couple of days on site with the University of New South Wales paleontologists I managed a half day shooting in Lawn Hill National Park near our camp at Adel’s Grove.
